War locally

Having an afternoon tea on museumplein: without moving my head I have a view on the American Embassy as well as on the TransNational Institute. The Embassy is heavily barricaded (or re-enforced) with red containers, an eyesore that takes up a quarter of the public parc; confiscated. The TNI is decorated with a huge banner containing "NO WAR" in five languages. Just as I ponder the meaning of this condensed view a nest of red balloons held by a small group of people (but growing big in a matter of minutes), trickles out of the TNI building and slowly heads for the parc. When they let go of the balloons I notice how their red colour clashes with the red of the containers. It is a beautiful sight (forgot my camera).
