What Guests can do and what we provide for Guests

– Do not smoke in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Please use ashtrays also outside.

– For river swimming we have watershoes in various sizes. Check to see if your size is among them behind the small green door in the salon.

– Empty trash into several containers in or nearby our house (ask us where).

– Do dishes, filling and unloading dishwasher, keep kitchen tidy. Always cover food (against flies).

– Tidy and sweep terrace.

– Keep coats, shoes and bags in your room (The inhabitants of this house make enough mess for ten people already and we don't have a cloakroom)

Leave your room tidy. When you leave chuck sheets, towels etc. on the floor. We'll wash them.

– Empty your room-bin in the big one in the kitchen.

– Respect environment and expense. Don’t be wasteful with loo-rolls, lightbulbs, water, electricity etc. (they are are much more expensive than in the places most of you are from)

– Avoid using computers in communal spaces (there is WIFI also in the bedrooms, ask us for the password)

– We have limited bandwith. Please don’t download movies etc.

– If you need clean towels, sheets, loo-rolls, extra blankets, pillows etc. just ask.

– There is a basket with sunscreen products in the kitchen on the top shelf. You're free to use that.

– There is an emergency medical basket in the kitchen on the top shelf, please help yourselves.

– The cupboard in the bathroom has products for guests, please check it out and indulge ;-)

– We have some spare t-shirts / pyjama's / underwear / socks etc. if you've packed too slimly.

– Keep back gate locked at all times. NEVER leave the front door open. The front door and hallway are alarmed so before you go on a late night out in the village let us know so we can disable the system.

– Keep something on your feet at all times. One or two scorpions a year make it into the house. We do have a sucking-thing in the emergency basket on the top shelf in the kitchen. Their stings are NOT fatal, just painful like a wasp sting.

– Ask us for a key if you need one but leave it here on your departure!

– In the kitchen you can use anything at all times except for the small wooden drawer-table. That is Kristi's private area.

– Do NOT ask us if you may use, drink or eat something. Just do it.
 Ideally replenish what you consume.

– Flowers make popular guests. Fill our vases after a walk or a trip to the market.

– John works in the mornings. Kristi will be at the garden or downstairs in her studio at the same time. Afternoons are to be discussed but we love to have dinner together, so if you won't join for dinner, let us know in time.

– None of us is typical Group-people, feel free to be alone

– When there are several guests, consider the cleanliness of the guest bathroom.

– As a general rule we do not pick up guests from airports or stations. But it can't harm to ask if there is a coincidental presence in one of the cities of arrival...

– Please offer to do shopping when you feel like it.

– A household wallet lives in a basket in the salon. Guests are asked to contribute what they can or want to. No receipts or notes are required. Just contribute what you can. We have wealthy and poor friends and we love ALL of them to be able to come and make us happy with their presence. When the wallet is empty (usually after marketday) it simply needs to be filled up again. We ourselves also add our share. For clarity reasons: this is the wallet you take when shop for food/drink/supplies for the house (-hold).

– All guests are requested to cook at least one time during their stay

– Please put green waste for the compost of the garden in the container provided. Do not put in: prepared food, bread, any citrus or meat. Everything else is good (also tea and coffee).

– Children of all ages and personalities are VERY welcome but we do not accept pets as guests. Please try and find them another holiday destination. If all fails consult with us first.

– A million and one thing need to be done in and around the house. If you're a handy person do not hesitate to offer your skill or advice at any time!

– Tools live in Kristi's studio, ask her for the code to the door if you're going to make yourself usefull. And if you're not making yourself usefull, DO NOT feel guitly. This is your holiday!
